Cocaine Enters baby’s circulation and cannot be eliminated as quickly as in adults Effects include miscarriage, birth defects, slower growth, born dependant and learning difficulties.
Heroin Most addictive drug. Effects include LBW, breathing difficulties, low blood sugar, bleeding within the brain, SIDS, and addiction with severe withdrawal symptoms.
PCP & LSD <-PCP LSD -> Both are hallucinogens and cause users to behave violently which may harm the baby if the mother hurts herself. Effects include LBW, poor muscle control, brain damage, birth defects and withdrawal symptoms.
Methamphetamine Causes the heart rate of the mother and fetus to increase. Effects include LBW, miscarriage and withdrawal symptoms.

Treatment for Addicted Babies Doctors give the baby small doses of methadone which is a drug alternative. It is administered at scheduled intervals and helps minimize withdrawal while slowly weaning the baby off the drug. Takes about 3 months.
