  1. Background information: At present Ratlam districts area - 3610 ha, production – 59638 tonne, productivity – 165.20 qtl. This is due to crop diversification initiated by GopalPatidar who introduce onion in village Rakoda (2006-07) with 1.0 ha. The increase in production and productivity is achieved by KVK interventions. Today village Rakoda is having 150 ha area and famous for ONION GROWERS. In the season per day 3 to 4 trucks are being loaded and Marketed (75/80) within and out side state (Mumbai, Delhi, Jalandhar, Udaipur and Ahmedbad).The farmers are getting good remuration and higher income. KVK, Ratlam (M.P.) • Higher production and productivity (58.63% increase in yield) in comparison to traditional method • Increase in income per hectare by Rs. 87000 & Rs. 102000 as compared to Wheat & Gram respectively. • Good market linkage with the Mandi’s at Mumbai, Ahmedbad, Delhi, Ludhiana and Udaipur • Technology disseminate in other villages like Panchewa, Dhamedi, Kamlakheda, Piploda, Vadayla, Amba etc. SUCCESS POINTS:
