Preliminary Session Layout • Full 4.5 (Monday through Friday noon) schedule • 45 rooms for parallel sessions • 405 total sessions (current actual usage is 478 sessions) • Assume our sessions and total papers will be 15% less than this year. • Session layout is TBD • SciTech Keynotes have top priority (no other talks during keynotes) • SDM and Concurrent Conferences Keynotes (8 keynotes need to be placed around SciTech keynotes) • Number of concurrent ADS sessions, times, and days is TBD • Every effort will be made to have full sessions, even if we have to combine half sessions • Minimum of 4 papers per session • No more than 3 concurrent sessions for each TC

Time Line April 1, 2013 - Call for Papers Go-Live on AIAA Website, - Web site open for submittal of abstracts May 15 - Proposed special sessions (SDM) submitted May 22 - “Abstract Central” User Training June 5 - Abstracts submission deadline July 1 - Abstract Reviews Complete TBD Mid-July - 2014 SDM Planning Meeting • DC, SD, or Detroit (or Webex) – TBD • Establish final accept / reject criteria • Lay-out sessions, estimate session attendance August 1 - Session Organization Complete August 13 - Mail accept/reject letters to authors   November 1 - Web-site is OPEN for manuscript submission ???? - Deadline for student paper submission December 12, 2013 - Web-site is CLOSED for manuscript submission January 13-17, 2014 - SciTech 2014, Washington DC

  8. Special Sessions • Strongly encourage each TC to propose special sessions • TC will take charge of special sessions • Submit a brief proposal to SDM Technical Chair (Kosmatka) by May 15 2013 • Purpose of special session • Nature of session (panel discussion, special topic) • Session chair and co-chair • Keep to the same schedule as other sessions • Minimum of 5 papers in special, non-panel sessions • You cannot have invited (non-reviewed) papers • TC Note: Panel sessions will reduce the number of sessions available for papers
