Project Objectives General objective: • Contribution to the minimization of adverse effects of chemicals on human health and environment, creation of preconditions for access to EU and establishment of free movement of goods in order to obtain sustainable development. • Contribution to the establishment of adequate control system for placing on the market and use of chemicals in relation to the danger and risk they present Specific objective: • Contribution in strengthening of institutional capacity and improvement of professional capacity in industry (chemical industry and downstream chemicals users) and scientific-research institutes as well as laboratory capacity for implementation and enforcement of chemical related legislation.   12. IPA’s project will be complementary project with project approved by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency - SIDA Project title: “Chemicals risk management in Serbia” Establishment of long term cooperation with Swedish Chemicals Agency - KemI

These 2 projects will have same overall objectives: • Contribution to the minimization of adverse effects of chemicals on human health and environment, creation of preconditions for access to EU and establishment of free movement of goods in order to obtain sustainable development. • Contribution to the establishment of adequate control system for placing on the market and use of chemicals in relation to the danger and risk they present. Complementary activities Extensive and comprehensive training and permanent education of the selected key representatives from the public administration institutions, industry, educational and scientific-research institutions in relation to REACH and risk assessment of chemicals To prepare an industry for the REACH: organization of helpdesks for industry and development of technical guidelines in order toobtain proper enforcement of chemicals legislation harmonized with EU legislation • Assistance in legislation and technical guidance development • Training of staffs for executing competent authority tasks and other beneficiaries • Development of chemicals inventory in electronic data base 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 IPA’s project Specific objective:Contribution in strengthening of institutional capacity and improvement of professional capacity in industry (chemical industry and downstream chemicals users) and scientific-research institutes as well as laboratory capacity for implementation and enforcement of chemical related legislation.
