Things we’ll cover • Business Units – Understanding how Harmony is organized • Customer Profile Table – Importing data to a table • Folders – Creating a folder and subfolder • Lists – Creating a list and importing data • Campaigns – Creating campaigns and messages • Advanced Messaging – Creating content snippets and personalization • *There will be additional training at a later date to cover Administration items, Reports and additional features

Administration Headline Business Units BUs (Business Units) function as the main account Sub BUs can be created within a BU, with the BU as the parent account Although sub BUs show up within a parent BU, none of the properties or settings from the parent BU are inherited Business Units are created with Harmony’s BackOffice which is a separate site

Creating a Folder • In this section we’ll cover: • Folders • Store and organize your message elements • Can be created within other folders • Are required to save any message elements • Items within a folder can be shared with other folders and BUs by using the Copy to and Move to icons at the bottom of the screen • Let’s create a folder!

  18. Lists • Any data imported to a list is also automatically then uploaded to the associated CPT • Importing to the Customer Profile Table • Custom Attributes can be added • Segmentation rules can be applied

Creating a Mailing List • Types of Lists • Mailing- Standard Mailing List used for deployment to subscribers • Proof -A list of testers to receive the message before deployment • Seed – A list of mock records used for proofing • Suppression – Temporary “Do Not Send”. Subscribers on a suppression list will not be sent to, regardless of whether or not they are on the intended lists

  21. Things to remember… • CustomerKey and EmailAddress are required fields • A list of Standard fields will be available in Ignite • If an attribute isn’t segmentable, you will not be able to query on it later • PII is only visible to users with certain levels of access

  22. Creating a Campaign • In this section we’ll cover: • Campaigns • Text and HTML Emails are created here • Text and HTML Content snippets are created here and can be used in any message within the same folder • Images are uploaded, hosted and stored within campaigns

  23. Follow My Lead! Creating an Email • Let’s take a look at the message creation process • This is where we will: • Configure message properties • Select audience • Upload content and track links • Perform Spam Check analysis • Preview, Proof, Approve and Deploy

  24. Things to remember • You can copy or move a message to other folders • Email settings can be saved and reused for other email deployments • Link Name, Tag and Description can be specified in the HTML and will populate in the Links Table

  25. Beyond simple messaging • In this section we’ll cover: • Messaging Options • Inserting existing html/text content • Personalization using FreeMarker

  26. Follow My Lead! FreeMarker Tags • FreeMarker • This syntax is used to personalize email messages • ${Attribute_Name} • Try inserting this for the EmailAddress attribute

  27. Follow My Lead! FreeMarker Tags • You can also use a default, and format the text output • ${Attribute_Name!’default’?capitalize} • Let’s add First_Name and create default with • appropriate formatting
