This analysis reviews survey responses from 451 HR professionals about the time required for new hires to be eligible for internal positions. Conducted from June 28 to July 4, 2005, the survey achieved a response rate of 19%, based on reviewing 451 out of 2,522 emails sent and 2,464 received. Findings reflected a margin of error of +/- 4%. The results provide insights into organizational practices regarding internal mobility and the tenure expectations for new employees prior to applying for internal roles.
