DEVELOPMENT OF THE LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE

This document outlines the significant transformation of the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) at Hartshead Sports College from the 1970s and 1980s to the present day. Initially a small, teacher-run classroom with limited resources, the LRC has evolved into a dedicated, well-stocked facility managed by a qualified librarian. Highlights include the introduction of computers, extended hours, new literacy policies, outreach initiatives, and various engaging programs for students and staff. The LRC now plays a central role in school life, fostering reader development and ICT literacy.
