History of Guy Fawkes Guy Fawkes day is to celebrate Guy Fawkes and a group of plotters trying to blow up parliament, king James the 1st and parliament workers because the government were being unfair in 1605. The reason We only celebrate Guy Fawkes out of these plotters is because he got caught and executed. Guy Fawkes These are the plotters who tried to blow up Parliament along with Guy Fawkes.
