  3. Married James Douglas in 1812 Lord and Lady Amelia saved her husbands life.

  4. 13 Children • By 1849 only 5 surviving • Passed on some of her Aboriginal traditions

  5. The custom of living with Aboriginal women was not limited to rural areas but also transitioned to Cities. • Urging for those living sinfully to make either a Holy or legal bond

  6. Jane Fawcett • Women were less valuable • Many women cast aside • Amelia died in 1890
