  3. As of February 2007, 2-1-1 is serving approximately 196 million Americans – over 65% of the U. S. population; 212 active 2-1-1 systems covering all or part of 41 states (including 19 states with 100% coverage). www.211.org

  4. 211 History • 211 began in Atlanta, 1997. • Public Utilities Commission designated 211 to Utah Food Bank Services (formerly Community Services Council), December 1999. • FCC designated 211 for Health and Human Service Information and Referral, July 2000. • Tooele, Salt Lake & Summit Counties launch 211 in January 2002. First in the West. • Utah and Davis Counties launch 211 service in 2002. • As of February 11, 2005 2-1-1 can be accessed from anywhere in the state of Utah.
