Utilizing BGP for ATM Addressing in MPLS Networks

This document outlines the implementation of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) for the transmission of ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) addresses within an MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) core. It introduces a new Address Family Identifier (AFI) and Subsequent Address Family Identifier (SAFI) which incorporate relevant Network Layer Reachability Information (NLRI). Additionally, this draft proposes a new Extended Community Attribute. It represents the current reference architecture and problem statement that the Multi-Protocol Framework (MFA) is addressing, and seeks support for acceptance as a Working Group document.
