Project Description • Automated resource management platform for SWIM • Upcoming demonstration of managing software resources in a SOA • Uses Kolona™, Topia’s mobile-object software suite for agile distributed computing • Flexible, efficient, secure • Used in contracts with US Air Force & US Army INSCOM • Plugs into Fuse ESB as an OSGi component; UI integrated as plug-in to Hyperic HQ

Major Milestones/Goals • We are in month 4 of a 12-month project. • Capabilities Evaluation A: 19 Jan 2011 • Product demonstration of Kolona applied to automated distribution & installation of OSGi bundles to notional SWIM services from a single, central Kolona administration console • Capabilities Evaluation B: June 2011

Accomplishments To Date • Portability study on Kolona w/r/t SWIM environment • Survey SWIM Segment 2 requirements to find problems that can be best tackled with Kolona • Analysis narrowed results to four • Modifiable Code Administration selected to show in Cap Eval A. • External to program: • Follow-on funding from C2IS & AFRL for SBIR • Follow-on funding from INSCOM to harden and deploy Secure Container

  7. Future Plans • Ensure that Kolona solution is adapted to SWIM as requirements are finalized • Continue to work with SWIM implementers to ensure operational value • Find other areas in SWIM that require resource management to leverage Kolona
