  2. Cum Clause • Cum + subjunctive verb • Translated: when • Cum in Africam venissent, Poenos in pluribus proeliis vicerunt. • When they had come into Africa, they conquered the Carthagenians in many battles.

  3. Indirect Command Verb of ordering, asking, begging, etc. + ut/ne + subjunctive verb • Civibuspersuasitutexirent. He persuaded the citizens to leave. • Legato imperat ne id faciat. He commands the legate not to do that.
