  5. Personification Suggested/Sample Lines Formula: Lines 1-2 = A statement of who you are - a phrase. Lines 3-5 = Begin describing yourself - give physical details Line 6 = Another statement of who you are – or your function (job) Lines 7-9 = A phrase beginning with an “ing” or “ed” word telling what you can do or are doing Lines 10 = a summary or conclusion

The Mistreated Sofa I am an old overstuffed sofa My covering torn and dirty My legs broken and uneven My armrests missing I am supposed to support an entire family Holding all while watching T.V. Eating leftovers spilled on me Knowing I don’t have much longer to be I know I soon will be on my way to the dump!
