Types of Work Classifications • Job – a piece of work; a specific task done as part of the routine of one’s occupation or for an agreed price • Occupation – a person’s usual or principal work or business; a means of earning a living; vocation • Career – an occupation or profession; one requiring special training; one’s life work • Volunteer – a contribution of free labor, usually to a non-profit organization

Group Roles • Assign the following • Recorder • Leader/presenter • Brain-stormers • The group members need to be recorded and given to Mr. Scafidi by the end of the class period!

Changes • Do you like change? • What does change look like? • Have you experienced any major changes to in your life? • Any stories of change that you wish to share?
Changes at work • Global Economy – the way all the world economies are linked • Technology – the practical use of scientific tools to get things done • Society – a body of individuals living as members of a community • Workplace Trends – changes that occur over a period of time in job settings • Work – effort directed to produce or accomplish something
