GEMS Needs - Goals • The goal was to develop • Training and teaching material for Work Based learning within the formal school system/secondary level • A process for quality improvement and enhancement in WBL • Why? The need was to improve the practice of Work Based Learning by • Identifying quality indicators • Introducing key competences • Situating WBL in a pedagogical framework • Enhancing WBL Nationally and on a trans-national level 1st QALLL Conference . Challanges • To reflect on particular teaching models in WBL. • Approach the content by • Reflecting on the majority of The Key Competences set by the European commission • Descrive learning outcomes and levels of qualification • To situate WBL in a pedagogical framework and attempt to describe different approaches to WBL as well as defining work based learning. • To try and describe or rather reflect on which teaching models are used in the mentor guide as well as the logbooks it would be fair to say that the philosophical underpinnings deal with reflective thinking and social skills. 1st QALLL Conference .
