Thematic Network QALLL • 2009 Restricted Call for proposals for NAs • 4 thematic network themes, one of them: QA • QALLL network: 14 Partner NAs, coordination: AT • NAs are encouraged to play an active role in the capitalisation of LLP projects, to promote mainstreaming of results and to facilitate the sustainability of LLP projects

Thematic Network QALLL • Political Background • Quality Assurance is closely connected with European initiatives like EQF, ECVET • NAs play decisive role as interface between political level and level of practical implementation • Results of thematic networks shall inspire further policy developments on national and European level 3

Thematic Network QALLL Aims of the QALLL project (I) Facilitate networking and mainstreaming of results and outcomes of projects in the education and training landscape Foster discussion of quality assurance related topics in the field of Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education amongst experts and stakeholders

Thematic Network QALLL Aims of the QALLL project(II) Develop recommendations for the target group: policy makers, social partners, stake holders and national authorities involved in VET and AE Develop recommendations for project promoters, their partners, National Agencies as well as the European Commission for increasing the effectiveness and sustainability of their work

  8. Thematic Network QALLL First Assessment & Mapping report Carried out by a team of 7 international experts, coordinated by M. Gutknecht Gmeiner 80 projects pre-selected, only about half of them (42):fully- fleged „quality assurance projects“ Reaching a common understanding of „quality assurance“ still remains a challenge! 8

Thematic Network QALLL Assessment & Mapping report: results (I) From the 42 projects mapped 93 % directly targeted the institutional level, i.e. the providers of (vocational) education and training In 30 cases (72%) the key process of “learning and teaching” was also at the core of the project which shows that quality assurance aims at the heart of the educational process 11

Thematic Network QALLL Assessment & Mapping report: results (II) Relatively high number of projects at least partly endeavoured to target the system level of education and training (18 or 43 %, 9 of which even directly target the system level) Products: on average more than 4 different categories 12

Thematic Network QALLL Assessment & Mapping report results (III) More than half of the projects developped products dealing with self-evaluation, 1/3 of the projects: products concerning external evaluation and 1/5 of the projects: products supporting accreditation and certification 30 out of 42 projects: recommended for further dissemination, …among them: SEALLL 13
