  3. Chapter 1 Overview

  4. 1.1 Overview • To utilize IP-Trunks, other features / functions and to increase IP-PT capacity, the NS1000 requires Activation Keys (A/Ks). • There are three types of Activation Keys: • Permanent Activations Keys – pre-installed in the NS1000 unit • Pre-Installed ‘Trial’ Activation Keys which can be activated for a period of 60 days. • Activation Keys Purchased via Panasonic and downloaded via the Key Management System (KMS). Customized System Activation Keys Basic Configuration Expand IP/SIP Capacity IP / SIP Terminal Master W/Pre-Installed Activation Key IP-NET Network Function Slave Slave Unified Messaging CA/CTI Functions Using Activation Keys, the user can customise their system to their own requirements.

  5. 1.1 Overview • Activation Key Distribution • In a One-Look Network, specific A/Ks are installed in the MASTER unit only (Centralised A/Ks), while others are installed in both MASTER and SLAVE units (Distributed A/Ks) One-Look Network Head Office Small Office Master Unit Small Office Branch Office One-look Networkingover IP Network Slave Unit Branch Office Slave Unit • Stand-Alone or QSIG’ed systems are always installed as ‘MASTER’ systems with the necessary A/Ks in each system. • The A/Ks can be Installed and managed via the WebMC connection to the MASTER unit, however the MPR-ID of each connected (MASTER/SLAVE) unit will need to be obtained so that A/Ks can be correctly assigned to the appropriate MASTER/SLAVE unit.

  7. 2.1 Activation Key – Types • Centralized Activation Keys (Installed in MASTER system only) The A/Ks above are installed in Stand-Alone, QSIG’ed and the MASTER unit of a One-Look system only. SLAVE units of a One-Look system do not require the above A/Ks.

  8. 2.1 Activation Key – Types • Distributed Activation Keys (Installed in both MASTER and Slave systems) The A/Ks above are installed in Stand-Alone, QSIG’ed and the MASTER/SLAVE units of a One-Look system.

  9. 2.1 Activation Key – Types • Pre-Installed Activation Keys • Pre-Installed A/Ks – No Expiration date. The following A/Ks are included with the NS1000 system • Pre-Installed A/Ks – 60 day Trial. • The following A/Ks are included with the NS1000 system and will expire 60 days after activation

  10. Chapter 3 Obtaining Activation Keys

  11. 3.1 Obtaining Activation Keys • How to obtain an Activation Key. • Each activation Key is ‘locked’ to a specific NS1000 unit. • For each required Activation key, the following 3 items are required:- • MPR-ID of the NS1000 unit. • The MPR-ID can be found in the following places:- a. b. On the rear of the NS1000 Via the WebMC (Recommended) Activation Key Number – Obtained via Sales Company upon purchase. Registration ID – Obtained via Sales Company upon purchase. Note: Items 2+3 may be in the form of a physical A/K card or email notification depending on your country.

  12. 3.1 Obtaining Activation Keys • Process for obtaining Activation Key Files • Once you have obtained the MPR-ID and Activation Key / Registration ID (From Sales Company), use the KMS system to download the Activation Key File. URL for KMS System is: https://eww.netreg.panasonic.co.jp/kms/ Dealer Step2: Access the KMS and Input three items Step3: Generate AK File Step1: Purchase System components Get the three items. MPR ID, Activation Key No. and Registration ID MPR ID Step4: Download the Activation Key File Activation Key No.Registration ID Sales Company KMS Activation Key File Activation Key File PSN Server Note: Activation Key No and Registration ID will be sent by E-Mail or Card depending on your location. KMS – Key Management System

  14. 4.1 Installing Activation Keys • Process for installing Activation Key Files (1) • After downloading the A/K to you PC. • Copy the Activation Key File to NS1000 using the WebMC Activation Key File b. Browse to the file location and install. a. Select ‘Maintenance’ -> ‘Utility’ -> Activation Key Installation

  15. 4.1 Installing Activation Keys • Process for installing Activation Key Files (2) • 3. Check the A/K is present from the ‘Activation Key’ screen c. Select ‘Setup’ -> ‘PBX Configuration’ -> ‘Slot’ -> Activation Key d. Check the A/K appears in the Status screen

  16. 4.1 Installing Activation Keys • Process for installing Activation Key Files (3) • 4. The A/K Detail can be checked here e. Select ‘Maintenance’ -> ‘Utility’ -> ‘File View’ -> Filename (LICxxx) f. Click ‘Detail’ to confirm the A/K status.

  17. 4.2 Activating Pre-Installed Keys • Process for Activating Pre-Installed A/Ks • 1. Navigate to the Activation Key Status screen via the WebMC a. Click the ‘Activate Pre-Installed A/K’ button b. Select the required A/K and ‘Apply’ NB: The Pre-Installed A/Ks will expire 60 days after activation (email notification will be sent to Supervisor 10 days before expiry.) The ‘One-Look’ pre-installed key must be activated during system initialisation.

  18. 4.3 Backing-up Activation Keys to USB • How to back up Activation Keys to USB Memory • The User installed A/Ks can be backed-up to a PC using a USB device. • If there is some system trouble, the system can be restored. In Maintenance- Tool- 1. System Data Back up menu, Select `Activation Key` and press Execute Press Contine after display Warning Message Press `OK` after completing Back Up Need to install USB Memory stick before starting Back Up procedure After Back Up has completed, a User can copy the back up data to a PC and can restore the system. Backed Up A/Ks can only be restored to the NS1000 with the corresponding MPR-ID.

  20. 5.1 Activation Key FAQs • The following points should be noted when using Activation Keys: • You can only download the activation key file once using the activation key number and registration ID provided on the activation key code. • Up to 8 activation keys can be downloaded as one activation key file. • Up to 997 activation key files can be installed per unit. • It is possible to send the activation key file to a specified e-mail address at the same time as downloading it to a PC. • Make sure to backup the downloaded activation key files on your PC. • When the mother board has to be replaced due to a system malfunction, the MPR-ID for the mother board is no longer valid. In this case, you need a temporary activation key for maintenance purposes. • The temporary activation key can only be used for a limited time period, and can be downloaded from the Key Management System in the same way as downloading activation key files.

Appendix - I • 1) IP Extension Capacity (Port Availability control) Note: By this setting, user needs to set up total number of IP-PT/IP Soft Phone, SIP-MLT, SIP-Phone, SIP-DECT, IP-Display Phone and 3rd party SLT If user want to increase number of IP-Ext, user must purchase new Activation Key Case: User install 31-50 ports Activation Key, then user want to increase ports size to 90 ports, then user must purchase 31-100 ports Activation Key Must Replace KX-NSM005 with KX-NSM010 (Cannot use 2 KX-NSM005) Current: Running 40 Port (KX-NSM005) Expand to 90 Ports

  23. Appendix - I • 2) IP-Trunk Note: (*1) Need to specify number of H323 trunks via WebMC • 3) IP Soft phone/IP PT Note: Regarding Soft-Phone/IP-PT /IP-Display Phone/SIP-SLT/SIP-MLT Activation Key, Soft-Phone has priority over IP-PT when total number of Soft-Phone and IP PT is exceeded.
