Ever dreamt of having a rainbow pet? • Rainbow pets are extremely rare genetically modified organisms which first originated in Australia. • Through the uses of technologies such as cDNA libraries, gel electrophoresis, southern blotting, DNA sequencing, and PCR help create the rainbow end effect.

  3. Complementary DNA • cDNA is synthesized from a mRNA template and then catalyzed by the enzymes DNA polymerase and reverse transcriptase. • In order to achieve the rainbow color, cDNA that codes for the protein is transferred to the recipient cell.
