  2. Where does it happen? Blizzards normally happen in the northern part of the world. Some places are the North Pole, Canada, the Rocky Mountains, and Columbia. Blizzards do not happen as much in the U.S , and when they do it is more dangerous because they are not as prepared. Two other place’s that a blizzard could happen would be Antarctica and the South Pole.

  3. How often do they occur? Blizzards do not happen to often because they only really happen in the winter. They happen between October and March. Blizzards are not common in Texas, Florida, and any other state that is in the south.

  4. What part of the earth is a part of it? Blizzards can really be anywhere but near the equator. They are mostly in the mountains. Snow is caused by rain, and cold temperatures. Cold temperatures , heavy snow, and high winds makes a blizzard.

  5. What normally happens during a blizzard? During a blizzard there are high winds, snow, ice, and cold temperatures. A snow storm is different than a blizzard because in a blizzard there is snow, cold temperatures, and high winds but in a snow storm there is just cold temperatures and snow.

  6. What is most dangerous thing that can happen? A blizzard can be extremely dangerous. Some of the most dangerous things that can happen in a blizzard is ice because it can cause the roads to get really slick and people to get in crashes. Another really dangerous thing that can happen in a blizzard is high winds. Winds can cause windows to break and the snow to blow everywhere, and in people faces.

  7. What do people measure for a blizzard. For a blizzard people measure the snowfall amount in inches and feet. Another thing that they measure is winds in miles per hour. The last thing that they measure is cold temperatures in degrees F/C.

  8. What are some after affects? After a blizzard there can be flooding, power outages, food shortages, collapsed roofs, tree’s down, and all forms of transportation.

  9. What are some key terms? cold front= The advancing heavy cold air forces the warmer, moist air to rise along the boundary between the two air masses. severe blizzard= A severe blizzard has high winds of more than 45 miles per hour accompanied be temperatures less than 10 F and visibility aproaching zero.

  10. Fun Facts! Some blizzards are so bad and they can get up to 4 feet of snow in one day!
