  2. The Reason We Hope . . . • Because “its” NOT always going to be this way.

  3. Proverbs 24:20 for the evil man has no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out. Proverbs 24:14 Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

  4. The Reason We Hope . . . 2. Because God fulfills His promise, so our confidence is in Christ. . . He came once and will come again.

  5. 1 Corinthians 15:19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. Titus 1:1-2 . . . for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

  6. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

  7. Isaiah 9 2 The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness,a light will shine.

  8. 11 Out of the stump of David’s family[a] will grow a shoot— yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root. 2 And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD 3 He will delight in obeying the LORD. He will not judge by appearance nor make a decision based on hearsay.

  9. 4 He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited. The earth will shake at the force of his word, and one breath from his mouth will destroy the wicked.5 He will wear righteousness like a belt and truth like an undergarment.
