USA Games History • Inaugural USA Games in Ames, IA, 2006 • Lincoln, Nebraska, 2010 • Princeton, New Jersey, 2014 • USA Games off-sets World Games held outside of the US to continue to promote our Athletes at the highest level to society. • No USA Winter Games • Not enough participation. • Not all states offer winter sports competitions.

Team SOILL Athlete Selection • Illinois places a request to SONA for athlete slots • SONA gives each state a specific number of slots in specific sports • Each Area fills out a request form to let us know what specific slots they can fill • Each Area assigned 2 slots based on requests and sports they have been assigned in previous USA Games • Larger Areas were given 3 slots

Processing Day & Training Camp • Processing Day – November 16, 2013 • Athletes, Coaches, Parents met in Bloomington-Normal. • Paperwork, medicals, head shots, uniform measurements • Family & General Games Presentation • Training Camp – April 4-6, 2014 • Athletes, Coaches meet and stay in Bloomington-Normal • Teams train at various sport specific venues throughout town • Evening Team Building/social activities

  11. Family Support • Karen Milligan is the lead contact for Families. • USA Games Family Registration & Family Center • SOILL Family Room Block • SOILL covers: • Meals and housing at Training Camp. Airfare, lodging, meals, travel gear and competition uniforms for USA Games. • Only cost for athlete: • Travel to and from Processing Day and Training Camp • Additional snacks beyond meals provided at USA Games • Souvenirs • Families must pay their own way to the USA Games.
