My gracious Master and my God,

Jesus! the name that charms our fears,

that bids our sorrows cease;

‘Tis music in the sinner’s ears,

‘Tis life, and health, and peace.

slide5

He breaks the power of cancelled sin,

He sets the prisoner free;

His blood can make the foulest clean,

His blood availed for me.

Glory to God, and praise, and love

be ever, ever given,

By saints below and saints above,

the church in earth and heaven.

The WELL:

Jesus broke cultural barriers to offer the gospel to the woman at the well, in John 4.  This shows how God brings people of all nations to know & worship him.  Our group continues this mission, both locally and globally. The Well will do this through prayer & worship, engaging the different cultures of Cedar Riverside, and becoming aware of the global church.

First Meeting will be Thurs. May 22 @ 7pm

at Shelby Little's House for brainstorming, prayer, worship, and details about The Well (time, place, etc).

savior like a shepherd lead us
Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us

Savior, like a shepherd lead us,

much we need Thy tender care;

In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,

for our use Thy folds prepare.

slide20

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

slide21

We are Thine, do Thou befriend us,

be the guardian of our way;

Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us,

seek us when we go astray.

slide22

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Hear, O hear us when we pray.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Hear, O hear us when we pray.

slide23

Thou hast promised to receive us,

poor and sinful though we be;

Thou hast mercy to relieve us,

grace to cleanse and power to free.

slide24

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Let us early turn to Thee.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Let us early turn to Thee.

slide25

Early let us seek Thy favor,

early let us do Thy will;

Blessed Lord and only Savior,

with Thy love our hearts now fill.

slide26

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Thou hast loved us, love us still.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Thou hast loved us, love us still.

how great thou art
How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God when I in awesome wonder

Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder

Thy pow’r throughout the universe displayed.

slide29

When through the woods and forest glades I wander and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.

When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur

And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze.

slide30

Then sings my soul, “My Savior, God,” to Thee,

“How great Thou art! How great Thou art!”

(2x)

slide31

And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,

Sent Him to die – I scarce can take it in.

That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,

He bled and died to take away our sin.

slide32

Then sings my soul, “My Savior, God,” to Thee,

“How great Thou art! How great Thou art!”

(2x)

slide33

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation

And make His home, what joy shall fill my heart!

Then I shall bow in humble adoration

And there proclaim,

“My God, how great Thou art!”

slide34

Then sings my soul, “My Savior, God,” to Thee,

“How great Thou art! How great Thou art!”

“Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing:

Enduring the Race for the Joy in Jesus”

Philippians 3:12-4:1

Philippians 3:12-4:1

.

12Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,

slide39

Philippians 3:12-4:1

.

14I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.16 Only let us hold true to what we have attained.

slide40

Philippians 3:12-4:1

.

17 Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. 18 For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.

slide41

Philippians 3:12-4:1

.

20But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. 4 Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved.

2 Corinthians 9:7

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

slide55

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

tis so sweet
‘Tis So Sweet

‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,

just to take Him at His word;

Just to rest upon His promise,

and to know,“Thus saith the Lord.”

slide58

O how sweet to trust in Jesus,

Just to trust His cleansing blood;

and in simple faith to plunge me

‘neath the healing, cleansing flood!

slide59

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!

How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!

Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!

O, for grace to trust Him more!

slide60

Yes, ‘tis sweet to trust in Jesus,

Just from sin and self to cease;

Just from Jesus simply taking

life and rest, and joy and peace.

slide61

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!

How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!

Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!

O, for grace to trust Him more!

slide62

I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,

precious Jesus, Savior, friend;

and I know that Thou art with me,

You will be with me to the end.

slide63

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!

How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!

Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!

O, for grace to trust Him more!

what a friend we have in jesus
What a Friend We Have in Jesus

What a friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry

everything to God in prayer!

slide66

Oh, what peace we often forfeit!

Oh, what needless pain we bear!

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer.

slide67

Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere?

Jesus, Savior, is our refuge.

Take it to the Lord in prayer.

slide68

Are we weak and heavy laden,

Cumbered with a load of care?

Precious Savior’s still our refuge;

Take it to the Lord in prayer.

slide69

Oh, what a friend!

Oh, what a friend in Jesus!

Oh, what a friend!

Oh, what a friend in Jesus!

(2x)

slide70

Blessed Savior, You have promised,

All our burdens You will bear.

May we ever, Lord, be bringing

All to you in earnest prayer.

slide71

Soon, in glory bright unclouded,

Face to face will be our prayer.

Joyful praise and endless worship

Will be our sweet portion there!

slide72

Oh, what a friend!

Oh, what a friend in Jesus!

Oh, what a friend!

Oh, what a friend in Jesus!

what wondrous love is this
What Wondrous Love is This

What wondrous love is this, O my soul!

What wondrous love is this, O my soul!

slide75

What wondrous love is this

that caused the Lord of bliss

to bear the dreadful curse for my soul!

to bear the dreadful curse for my soul!

For my soul!

slide76

When I was sinking down, sinking down;

When I was sinking down, sinking down;

When I was sinking down

beneath God’s righteous frown,

Christ laid aside His crown for my soul.

slide77

Christ laid aside His crown for my soul!

For my soul!

For my soul!

For my soul!

slide78

And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on.

And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on.

And when from death I’m free,

I’ll sing and joyful be.

And through eternity I’ll sing on.

slide79

And through eternity I’ll sing on.

I’ll sing on.

I’ll sing on.

I’lll sing on.

amazing grace
Amazing Grace

Amazing grace – how sweet the sound! –

that saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost but now am found;

was blind, but now I see.

slide82

Amazing grace – how sweet the sound! –

that saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost but now am found;

was blind, but now I see.

slide83

T’was Grace that taught my heart to fear,

And Grace, my fears relieved.

How precious did that Grace appear

the hour I first believed!

slide84

Through many dangers, toils and snares

I have already come;

‘Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far

and Grace will lead me home!

slide85

When we’ve been there ten thousand years

bright shining as the sun

we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise

than when we first begun!
