As a child, he enjoyed drawing and role-playing imaginary scenes. • He liked to pretend he was riding on an airplane around the world to faraway places. • After finishing high school, he studied in Mexico for six months. George Ancona speaks more than five languages. • "I enjoy meeting all kinds of people." • "For me, a children's book is like taking a child for a walk and discovering something about our world."
