  1. Chapter 7 - Printing • Objective -Learn the printing process to handle its different variables • Goals -The students will learn the options available for an adequate print of the spreadsheet. -The students will be able to use the page setup procedures, set headings and footnotes in order to print a page.

  2. 7.1 Introduction Word processors are designed in such a way that th visualization of the page design while the document is edited or entered. This facilitate the printing process. In this chapter will be explained the process and tools necessary to print a document.

  3. 7.2 Page Setup

  4. Page Orientation: You may select vertical or horizontal orientation. Scale: It decreases or increases the aspect of the printed data. The 100% scale specification is the normal feature. Paper Size: Displayable list box with the paper measurements accepted by the installed printer. Print Quality: Displayable list box with the resolution capacities of the installed printer. First Page Number: Automatic option that assigns the number one to the first page. • Margins Top, Bottom, Left, Right: These controls set the deistance between the data and the page border. Heading, Footnote: It sets the distance between the Heading/Footnote and the page border.

  5. Center Page Horizontal/Vertical: It centers the data between the margins in a Horizontal or Vertical way or both. • Heading and Footnote This section will be albe to select preset headings and footnotes usign the corresponding displayable list boxes. • Sheet Print Area: Range specification as print area. Repeat Rows at the Top End: Range specification of titles in rows/columns to be repeated in all the sheets. Division Line: It activates/deactivates the printing of the division lines. Downwards, then to the Right: It prints the data in the first columns, when it finishes it continues with the first rows in the following columns. To the Right, then Downwards: It prints the data in the first rows, the it continues with the first columns of the following rows.

  6. Spreadsheet conceptThe Spreadsheet is the computerized versión ofthe pape' sheets prinied withhorizontal and vertica! iines to be divided ¡n rows and coiutnns. These tools areused manually by accountants and their function is to organize Ítems intoaccountable quantities. These are known as spreadsheetsAt present, the term Spreadsheet describes just the basic aspecí of íneapplication because it has evoived togeíherwiíh persona! compi-iters e>isíing 3great variety of commerciai producís that intégrate tooic- for the creaüon oigraphs, basic drawings, predefined functions, data base macros managemení,among others. The common feature for any software developed as a Spreadsheet is iisstructure through which it can achieve the perfect organization plan íhat makesits operation possible.Next, we.wiH meníion three important basic aspecís to undersíand th'ssoftware,1, The structure of rows and coiumns delimits the workng área inío spacescalled cells. Next: It displays the following page. Previous: It dislays the previous page. Zoom: It changes between the complete page view and the augmented view. Print...: Access to print options. Configurate…: Access to page setup options.

  7. Margins: Show/Conceal the margin, heading, footnote and columns width controls. It modifies their position by dragging the mouse. Page Jump: It changes into a view t place page jumps. Close: Returns to the previous view of the active sheet.

  8. 7.4 Printing Once the page has been setup and all the necessary adjustments have been set, the Print option in the File menu helps you obtain a permanent copy of the document in paper. Th Print dialogue window contains the most common printing options within th applications of the graphic setting operating system, as you can see in the following picture.

  9. Chapter 8 Spreadsheet Graphics • Objective -Understand and apply the options available in the spreadsheet to edit graphics. • Goals -The students will know how graphics operate. -The student will identify graphic elements.

  10. 8.1 General Concepts • Definition A graphic is the visual representation of data. • Operation The operation of graphics in the spreadsheet is generally based on the relation or organization established between, the data selected in rows and columns with vertical y-axis of values and the horizontal x-axis of categories.

  11. Elements The following are the elements of a graphic: Graphic area: This is the area containing the graphic. X and Y axis: Axes are displayed according to the type of graphic. X and Y titles: These are labels describing the concept or unit of the axis. Legend: This box describes the indicators or colors that identify the data series or categories. Graphic Title: This is the descriptive title of te graphic. It appears at the central top part by default.

  12. 8.2 Graphic Types • Column Graphic This graphic applies to almost any type of data that requires to be compared one beside other, showing the variation of individual values in a determined time period.

  13. Bar Graphic The bar graphic is similar to the column graphic with the categories in the vertical axis and the values in the horizontal. • Line Graphic This graphic with the categories in the vertical axis and the values in the horizontal axis.

  14. Circular Graphic Their function is to demonstrate the proportional relation between the individual parts in a series with the sum of all the elements, underlining the most significant one. This is commonly known as pie graph.

  15. Other types of Graphics XY (dispersion), area, rings, radial, surface, bubbles, and other graphics are available in the spreadsheet. Area Rings XY (dispersion) Radial Surfaces Bubbles
