c. Identify staffing needs for a production.

d. Write a program using accepted styles of production, as per assigned format.

e. Review the duties of a director and perform these duties in accepted styles of production.

f. Edit a program using accepted styles of production.

  • Describe electronic news gathering (ENG) and electronic field production.

b. Set up ENG equipment for field production.

c. Operate ENG equipment during production segments.

a. Calculate back-time and running time and apply the calculations to the editing of a program.

b. Use appropriate transitions and effects (video/audio) for production.

e. Maintain proper continuity throughout production.

  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – student assistant will pull up schooltube.com and the class will watch the video of the day.
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays – students will write an article summary of a news story from cnn.com.

1 – Organize

Keep your shot list handy – you need every shot listed in your final project to receive full credit.

2 – Shoot

Crew members shoot field video

3 – Edit

Crew members will edit their scavenger hunt

videos. Final product should feature all shots in the given order.

4 – Review

Class will watch each video.

Learning Assessment

The prosumer scavenger hunt is a “class work” activity. Completion of the project will result in a completion grade. The instructor will provide assistance to fix any errors in projects.
