Surrealistic Imangery Idea’s By Julia Jin
Abnormal Shapes With use of tight and stretchy nylon material
Abstract dance • Main singer and rapper dancing and/or with backup dancers • Upclose, medium and wide shots • Having camea follow the movements to bring life and energy • Can cut in pieces of abstact dancing shots into the main video that suits tempo, eg starting chorus
I have been intrested in the experimentation and manipulation of the preception of different visuals, especially facial expressions and movement with the use of mirrors. • The large scale mirrors as a set was something that started my investigation, and it resulted me in considering the smaller samples (the previous photo examples) to be something more attainable. • Although, it was brought to my attention that playing with mirrors in the studio could be potentially tricky due to all the reflections of all the BTS materials.
Shots: with flap mirror effect to siginfy the power of facial expressions
Experiment with Facial Features: Eyes, Mouth and Nose • Use cut outs of different features and place infront of camera • Draw on acetate and display infront of lense • Use glasses with water to magnify certain features
By finding various ways to present the expressions in a literal sense through the face in an unconventional way is what I aim to focus on through the applied “suurealistic” elements of the music video. • Highlighting certain facial features can adjust the expression and alter meaning. Or simply create confusion.
Draw on acetate to put infront of lense with fineliner: experimenting with shape and space
TrappedDraw 11 straight lines to create the illution of a box in which further signifies the mental entrapment - relating to the Maze
Staircases – to create layers of complexityAlthough unsure where I would bring a camera to film this, but surely, if needed I could record on my phone when passing a suitable staircase.
