  4. Clarifications to The Call • Appraisal & Quinquennial Votes – Each eligible department member must vote on each possible outcome. For Appraisals the possible outcomes are: Positive, Qualified Positive and Negative. For Quinquennials the possible outcomes are: Satisfactory and Unsatisfactory.

  5. Clarifications to The Call - continued • 220 Process – This is in reference to APM 220-80-j Preliminary Assessment Procedures. A procedural guideline is available on the Academic Personnel website. It serves to clarify and describe the 220 process. Clarifications to The Call - continued • Sabbatical Reports APM 740-97 “Within ninety calendar days following return from leave, the recipient of a sabbatical leave shall submit to the Chancellor a concise report…The report shall become a part of the supporting materials submitted with any proposal for subsequent promotion or merit increase.” During the review period, sabbatical leave reports are: Not Due o On file and available upon request o Not on file (include explanation) o

  7. Miscellaneous AP Issues • Announcement Procedures • The administrative decision on the candidate’s file will continue to be communicated to the Chair through the Dean (Announcement Letter) • Additionally for positive outcomes, the candidate will receive a letter from the VPAP on the action including the new salary, no earlier than 10 days after the announcement. The Chair, Dean and Academic Senate are copied. • For negative outcomes, the candidate will also receive a letter (Reasons Letter) from the VPAP no earlier than 10 days after the announcement.

Miscellaneous AP Issues - continued • Winter and Spring Forum dates: Thursday February 12, 2009 and Thursday May 7, 2009 • Faculty Awards • Senate Faculty Searches: 45 this year • Senate Faculty Number: Returning and New Faculty as of October 28 is 719 Projected total for this year is 725 • The Call due dates • File tracking report

APM Updates • Revised APM 220-18-b(4) – Criteria for Advancement to Professor VI and Professor A/S • Revised APM 220-85-b, 335-10-a, 740-11-c and the Rescission of APM-350 • Revised Leave of Absence/Sick Leave/Medical Leave (APM 710) policy and new Reasonable Accommodation (APM 711) and Medical Separation( APM 080) policy
