We love God and are thankful for all
He has done for us. We want to serve
Him. We do not work to earn salvation.
Salvation is by grace. We do not work
to become righteous. We already have
the righteousness of God. We are
workers together with God in the
“family business”. When we work with
love and faithfulness, God rewards us.
One of the best works we can do is to believe God's Word. We have already believed the most important thing:
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
Our example: Jesus Christ
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with the Holy Spirit and power,
and how he went around doing
good and healing all who were
under the power of the devil,
because God was with him.
We represent Christ on earth.
Very truly I tell you, whoever
believes in me will do the works
I have been doing, and they will
do even greater things than these,
because I am going to the Father.
God has equipped us.
so that the servant of God
may be thoroughly equipped
for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:17
Keep serving God.
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. I Corinthians 15:58
God rewards us.
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
For we are God’s workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good
works, which God prepared in
advance for us to do.
Brightly beams our Father’s mercy from His lighthouse evermore,But to us He gives the keeping of the lights along the shore.
Dark the night of sin has settled,
loud the angry billows roar;Eager eyes are watching, longing,
for the lights, along the shore.
Trim your feeble lamp, my brother, some poor sailor tempest tossed,Trying now to make the harbor,
in the darkness may be lost.
