  4. Many nouns do not follow the rules! • Here are a few: • Some nouns that end in y • Nouns that end in x • Nouns that end in sh • Nouns that end in ch • Nouns that end in s or ss

  5. Nouns that end in a consonant and a y • Change the y to an iand add es • family families • city cities • baby babies • candy candies

  6. Nouns that end in x • Add es to the end of the word. • box boxes • fox foxes • tax taxes

  7. Nouns that end in sh • Add an es to the end of the word. • dish dishes • bush bushes • wish wishes • brush brushes
