  4. Tempo • Largo – slow – 50 BPM • Andante – walking pace – 84 BPM • Moderato – medium – 100 BPM • Allegro – fast – 120 BPM • Vivace – very fast – 144 BPM • Presto – extremely fast – 168 BPM+

  5. Dynamics Piano, Mezzo Piano, Mezzo Forte, Forte

  6. Dynamic Variance • Crescendo – gradually increase volume • Decrescendo – gradually decrease volume

  7. Articulation Markings • Staccato – detached, separated • Legato – long, connected • Accent – emphasized, slightly louder

  8. Style • Agitato – agitated • Cantabile – singing like • Con Brio – with gusto • Dolce – sweetly • Espressivo – expressively • Maestoso – majestically
