  3. Some new upcoming treatments in Dental Care are:- High-tech treatments hold promise for tooth regeneration in dentistry which repairs cavities without fillings and even can regrow the entire teeth. This is really revolutionising the Dental Industry with more patients opting to undergo such treatments to experience better and effective dental care. STEM CELLS LASERS ROBOTICS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

  4. STEM CELLS Usually, when dentists spot cavities, they drill out the decayed material and fill the hole with amalgam. But amalgam can fail or even fall out in due course. That can bring more discomfort and a trip back to the dentist which is inconvenient and expensive. It is possible to overcome the above mentioned problems by using stem cells effectively. Research shows the drugs can coax stem cells within the dental pulp — the soft material deep within teeth that is filled with nerves and blood vessels — into regrowing enough bony tissue (dentin) to fill the cavity.

  5. LASERS When decay reaches the pulp, dentists perform a root canal treatment. This involves removing the bulk of the tooth and then filling what is left with amalgam. The tooth is then sealed with an artificial cap, but this can fail over time as a result of the stresses of chewing. Using low-power laser light to stimulate tooth regeneration is an effective treatment to avoid such situations. Applying laser light directly on the remaining pulp can stimulate stem cells in the pulp to produce new dentin. Our bodies have the ability to heal our tissues through their own stem cells. Laser treatment can bring in quality change and can have dramatic effects on dental treatments and dentistry.

  6. ROBOTICS Earlier this year, the first robot designed for dental implant surgery was approved by FDA. It’s designed to ensure accurate and precise oral surgery, specifically for implant cases and implant placements. The intent of surgical robots is to allow more precise control over surgeries, ostensibly providing better care, less invasive procedures and improved healing times. Some researchers are even experimenting with completely hands-free surgeries—though these will likely always be a minority since quick reactions and critical thinking are key to any surgery.

  7. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE With the advent of digital dentistry, dental offices now collect a significant amount of data—from 3D images, to patient files, to EHR, to intraoral scans and so on. That data is helpful in the day-to-day job of the clinician and the dental team, but it’s even more useful in the virtual “hands” of AI. A system that was built to learn and develop its own intelligence can scan, analyze and make sense of the massive amounts of data. It can then suggest treatment options, predict problems and issues before they happen, and ensure any planned medication or procedures won’t interfere with other health concerns and more. Artificial intelligence could also be used to eventually help with diagnoses and analysis of images—2D or 3D.
