  2. God’s Potential Developers Potential Defined: • Potential is the seed that houses the capability to discover & ability to maximize the real you!

God’s Potential Developers • Eph 4:11-16 - NLT • 11He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ, 13 until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ.

As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

God’s Potential Developers • What Qualifies a Deacon (Acts) • Good Reputation • Full of the Spirit • Full of Wisdom • 1Positive qualifications (3:8a, 9–13) a.     He must be sincere and worthy of respect (3:8a). b.     He must be a man of spiritual depth (3:9). c.     He must be a man of proven character and ability (3:10). d.     He must be faithful to his wife, and his wife must be a woman of good character • 2.     Negative qualifications (3:8b–8c) a.     He must not be a heavy drinker (3:8b). b.     He must not be greedy (3:8c).

God’s Potential Developers Pastor/Elder Qualifications • 1.     Positive qualifications (3:1–2, 3c–5, 7) a.     He must be above reproach (3:1–2a). b.     He must have only one wife and be faithful to her (3:2b). c.     He must be temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, and able to teach d.     He must be gentle and have a well-behaved family (3:3c–5). e.     He must be respected by those outside the church (3:7). • 2.     Negative qualifications (3:3a–3b, 3d, 6) a.     He must not be a heavy drinker (3:3a). b.     He must not be violent (3:3b). c.     He must not be proud (3:6b). d.     He must not be greedy (3:3d). e.     He must not be a new Christian (3:6a).
