  2. Non-Fiction - Informational • A piece of literature that is meant to give information or facts about a topic.

  3. Non-fiction - Biography • The story of a person’s life as written by another person.

  4. Non-Fiction - Autobiography • The story of a person’s life written by that person.

  5. Non-Fiction - Diary • A written account of what a person has done, felt, or thought, that is written by that person.

  6. Fiction - Historical • This form of fiction recreates time, event, or place in history. It will contain facts but the story is imaginative.

  7. Fiction - Realistic • Writing that shows life as it really is…includes everyday things such as getting a cold, throwing up, breaking a leg, etc.

  8. Fiction – Realistic - Mystery • A story in which a character unravels a series of clues to solve an unexplained situation.

  9. Fiction – Realistic - Thrillers • Scary, surprising mysteries that involve a touch of violence or monsters, or evil-doers.

  10. Fiction – Realistic - Romance • Stories that involve love and relationships.

  11. Fiction – Realistic - Comedy • Writing that deals with life in a humorous way; books that are meant to be funny.

  12. Fiction - Fantasy • Any of several types of literature where impossible things happen.
