INTRODUCTION One might be intrigued by the significance portraits holds even at present when we have photography equipment with bleeding-edge technologies? Our assumption is that it depends how you define its importance or significance. That said, one cannot deny that art portraits are a staple in historical places and art museums. Art is subjective, however, there are some good reasons as why portraiture has remained so important in art history. We will discuss that in the next part of the presentation.
