  3. Reaching FORWARD! As a part of the Seventh-day Adventist movement, and recognizing our prophetic role in history, a disciple of Jesus Christ is one who is growing in an authentic relationship with God and others. I will commit to:

  4. Following God through daily spiritual practices

  5. Opening myself to God by participatingin regular corporate worship

  6. Returning time, talents,and resources to God

  7. Willingly serve my local church and community in the context of my spiritual gifts

  8. Anticipating spiritual growth in others by being in genuine relationships

  9. Reproducing the discipleship journeyin others by the power of the Holy Spirit

  10. Mentoring New Disciples

  11. John 15:5,6 “If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” Mentoring New Disciples

  12. John 15:7-11 “This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” Mentoring New Disciples

  13. “The effort to bless others will react in blessings upon ourselves. This was the purpose of God in giving us a part to act in the plan of redemption. He has granted men the privilege of becoming partakers of the divine nature and, in their turn, of diffusing blessings to their fellow men.   16. Picture a journey versus a trip

  17. Mentoring = a form of teaching that includes walking alongside a person you are teaching and inviting him or her to learn from your example. Mentoring New Disciples

  18. John 15:14, 15 “I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.” Mentoring New Disciples

  25. Let’s spend some time planning to mentor a new disciple. Spend 10 minutes doing the first section on the Mentoring Activity page. Spend the next 10 minutes sharing and praying at your table. Mentoring New Disciples
