Frustration • Definition: a feeling that comes when you can’t solve a problem • Synonym: irritation, dissatisfaction, annoyance • Sentence One: The student was overcome with frustration when he could not figure out the puzzle. • Sentence Two: While in the computer lab, she almost screamed with frustration when she got the spinning wheel of doom.

  4. Hatchet • Definition: an ax with a short handle • Uses for hatchets: • Chopping wood • Making kindling • Cutting rope • ZAP Sentence: Brian used his hatchet to make smaller pieces of kindling in order to start the fire.

  5. Kindling • Definition: wood or other material to start a fire • Synonyms: tinder • Examples: twigs, small pieces of wood, dried grass or leaves, paper • Sentence: Because he had nothing else, Brian used a twenty dollar bill for kindling.
