  1. SOCIAL DISTORTIONS AND DENONCIATIONS in CARTOONS

  2. HISTORY Cartoons are born as movies in cinema and they distinguished themselves for humoristic contens for a grown-up public. During the second post war period cartoons started to come into television. This passage marked a transformation in themes and in public.

  3. THE LION KING: subliminal messages Most Disney’s sexual messages are fake but there are some real ones (in old VHS). The Lion King is probably the most famous movie in regards to Disney subliminal messages: IT WAS THE MOVIE THAT BASICALLY STARTED IT ALL.

  4. The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created in 1987 by Matt Groening. Since its debut, 511 episodes have been showed in television. The main characters are part of a typical family who lives in the town of Springfield: they are Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie.

  5. It can be considereda satirical parody of a middle class American lifestyle; it parodies American culture, society, television and many aspects of the human condition. The show's humor turns on cultural references that cover a wide spectrum of society so that viewers from all generations can enjoy the show. Such references, for example, come from movies, television, music, literature, science, and history.

  6. "DONUT HELL" In this video you will see Homer Simpson, who sells his soul to the devil because he ate a donut. As a consequence the devil sends him to a punishment laboratory to “suffer”. This is a clear example of a consumer society that causes the degradation of a person. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3ZcZ2h4Ths

  7. Beavis and Butthead is an american cartoon created by Mike Judge in 1997. The show centers on two socially awkward teenagers, who live in the town of Highland. They have no apparent adult supervision at home and they spend their free time watching music videos or reality shows. They are very silly, under-educated and they seem to have no moral code. Moreover they are obsessed with sex even if they have no contact with women and they often giggle when they hear something that can be remotely related to this theme.

  8. BEAVIS He has an underbite and a fixed countenance. Like Butt-head, he compulsively laughs and grunts. He is the more excitable of the two especially when he sees fire. When Beavis consumes large amounts of caffeine or sugar, he transforms into his hyperactive alter-ego Cornholio.

  9. BUTT-HEAD He has a predominant personality, he always laughs in a characteristic way and he is slightly smarter than Beavis. Like him, he works at the Burger World (a fast food) and attends the Highland High School.

  10. “CHOKING YOUR CHICKEN” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu0roDDvBus&feature=related This video is an example of social denonciation: in particular, the cartoon is a painting of the American teenagers’ stupid attitude and it has been harshly criticized for the behaviour of the two main characters. It also depicts the influence of television on young people.

  11. The American dysfunctional family

  12. Peter Griffin Male Quahog – Rhode Island Worked at a toy factory and at Quahog’s Brewery Family Guy – the movie TV, alcohol and friends Ernie; the giant chicken

  13. Lois Griffin Housewife Chris Griffin Terrified of monkeys Brian Griffin Alcoholic Mag Griffin Thinking about liposuction Stewie Griffin Next leades of the world

  14. "White guys race" "No legs, no service" "Speaking Italian" • This American sitcom, created in 1998 by Seth MacFarlane, is set in Quahog. There are references to strong and ticklish themes and, for this reason, it has been criticezed by some producers. In these videos there are examples of: • Racial discrimination • Disabled • Italians http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMN2QCHXolw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joxoSfGWGxM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JhuOicPFZY&feature=related
