  4. Desiring to build for God: Biblical Records Pagan Records The Lord favors the king. A god favors the king. King decides to build temple. King decides to build temple. Building of temple is done. Building of temple postponed. The Lord grants more favors. The god owes favors now.

  5. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men . . . who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession . . Titus 2:11,14

  6. . . . that which you have promised him; indeed You have fulfilled with your hand as it is this day. Now therefore, O Lord the God of Israel, keep with Your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, "You shall not lack a man to sit on the throne of Israel . . . O God of Israel, let your word, I pray be confirmed which You have spoken I Kgs. 8:24-26
