THE GREAT COMMISSION REVISITED • The Great Commission was Given by Christ. • Analysis of the various accounts reveals certain distinctive characteristics of each. • Matthew’s emphasis is on teaching. • Mark’s emphasis is on the preacher and hearer. • Luke’s emphasis is on the divine plan. • The gospel message is not an afterthought. • It was first spoken by Jesus. • Its enforcement to begin at Jerusalem.

Luke 24:46-49 Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things. "Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high."

  17. 2 Timothy 2:1-2 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
