  3. Chairman’s Report High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectations. And high expectations are certainly what we have set for ourselves at Asia AMCA. We want to grow the industry, to grow member financial health and to promote the use of the Certified Ratings Program globally, all for the benefit of your business. In short, your association wants to and is here to assist you. AMCA has certainly made significant progress in Asia during the last one year. With the formation of Asia AMCA in Singapore, you now have a branch of AMCA International, much closer and dedicated to servicing you. With an understanding of the unique business environment in Asia, Asia AMCA can better cater to your needs in a more effective manner. You can expect shorter lead times for product testing and certification, increased frequency of technical educational sessions to be conducted so that you are kept abreast of industry happenings, greater opportunities for you to meet with Asia AMCA staff to share your concerns, amongst a whole host of other benefits. Without a doubt, AMCA is certainly growing rapidly in Asia. Today, we have some 98 members, with China contributing to the highest growth. This is not surprising as China is not only the world’s most populous country, it is expected to be one of the world’s main engines of economic growth. We have hence chosen to have this year’s Annual Meeting in Shanghai, so that we can hear from as many local industry players as possible.

  4. Having said the above, opportunities in the rest of Asia are also very promising and we will continue to do our best to advance our service to all members and to our mission. I look forward to spending a very fruitful time with you and the rest of our industry peers at this 2012 Asia AMCA Annual Meeting. Bek Siew HupChairperson of the BoardAsia AMCA

  5. Executive Director’s Report Time really flies! It’s been only six months when Asia AMCA Pte Ltd was registered and, today, we are present here to make our report on last fiscal year accomplishments. This unique transformation from an independent laboratory into an extended arm of AMCA International however, remains with the prestige purpose of serving it’s members from Asia. Now, with the same team but dressed in a different role, we know we must build on the groundwork laid by AMCA, to increase the value-add AMCA can bring to Asian members. AMCA is perceived as an authoritative voice in it’s industry and a leading contributor to industry standards. With this, we are optimistic of the potential that Asian members will no longer feel unease with the credibility of AMCA standards and certified ratings as oppose to the varying ratings presently in the local markets. Therefore, with this advantage, targeted strategies are being implemented to bring growth in Asia membership and keeping in mind in creating and continual improvement in the industry environment. We have conducted 6 technical seminars during these 6 months in building up the awareness of what AMCA can offer to consultants and end users.

  6. In this Shanghai meeting, besides the participation of members and potential members, we have also invited 33 consultants and 9 end users. This will serve as an alternative platform for interaction and to create a bonding between our members. We will be there to hear from you on your valuable ideas which we could use to deliver even greater value to our members. Goh Swee LeeExecutive DirectorAsia AMCA Pte Ltd

  9. Certified Ratings Program-Asia Region The average growth is about 12 % and there are still room for further growth. The demand for CRP is strong in Asia and we are expecting more product lines to be certified within the next 2 years. FEG certification has started since last April and as of today, 40 product lines are being certified from 14 companies. Currently, there are participation from 5 countries, i.e. China-6, Singapore-3, Malaysia-1, India-2 and Taiwan-2.

Great effort has been put into the area of educational sessions and workshops, roadshows and collaboration with respected organization such as ASHRAE, Taiwan Fan Association (TVEA), China Fan Association and CRAAQCCto maintain and generate leads for future membership growth. A possible annual increase of 24 members can be expected and it all depends on how effectively the market environment is being build up in attracting new members.
