  1. The Rise of Sinn Fein As a group, read through the reasons why Sinn Fein rose to prominence and then rank this across the room from most important to least important reason to explain their rise.

  3. How significant was the rise of Sinn Fein? • Subject Objective(s) • To know the reasons why Sinn Fein rose to prominence. • To be able to evaluate sources using NOPA.

Learning Outcomes: • C grade – will be able to explain the content of a range of contemporary sources. • B grade – will be able to analyse the strength of the the evidence. • A grade – will be able to reach a substantiated conclusion to an enquiry question focusing on the strength of the evidence presented.

  5. Sinn Fein Sources Grade C – Understanding - Answer the question about the sources. Grade B – Evaluating – Evaluate the sources using NOPA. Remember that the commentary needs to think about the source sin their historical context. Grade A – Synthesising – Now use the evaluation of the sources to explain how far they support the statement: Sinn Fein had a positive effect on Anglo-Irish relations.
