  5. WHAT’S COMING? • 2010 Determinations • ISD packets (57) will be mailed out via US mail 2-3 days prior to the local district packets (834). • Mailing to local districts will begin the week following the MAASE meeting Office of Special Education and Early Intervention Services June 2010

WHAT’S COMING? • 2009-2010 Discipline and Initial IEP Data • There is substantial decrease in the number of discipline records and initial IEPs reported in MSDS this year. • CEPI will verify the 2009-2010 discipline and initial IEP data in June. • Forecast for Disproportionate Representation • Districts will receive official notification by mid-June Office of Special Education and Early Intervention Services June 2010

WHAT’S COMING? • 3WiN Special Education Count • Beginning in 2010 the active count of students with IEPs will occur on the 3rd Wednesday in November. • Each district needs to decide which personnel will have responsibility for this count. • Early On data will continue to be performed by the Michigan Compliance Information System in 2010. • Look for upcoming memo for more information.   11. WHAT’S COMING? • Educational Setting Data of 3-5 Year Olds • United States Office of Management and Budget has changed the requirements for reporting. The new codes are effective immediately. • Districts need to begin collecting information. • Memo from Sally Vaughn with details of the new requirements will be sent in the near future. • Exit Data • Be aware of what code is used for reporting in the MSDS Office of Special Education and Early Intervention Services June 2010

UPDATES & REMINDERS • Medicaid Auditors are coming: • If you have useful information to share with other districts in assuring a successful audit send to Jane Reagan and she will get this information out to others. ReaganJ@michigan.gov • Remember that the time study return day beginning with the October-December 2010 is earlier. Time studies not turned in on time affect all ISDs in the whole state.
