  1. Is a Leaning Country falling? By Max Johncox

  2. Developed or Developing? Italy’s Economy is not doing so well. They have a low GDP Growth rate and GDP per capita. GDP’s are how much money people make in a year. The GDP of Italy is 30,100 compared to the United States it is about 18,100 lower. The growth rate of Italy is -2.3% compared to the U.S. it is 1.8%. It means that Italy is doing the exact opposite of growing. It is falling! To stay a non-poor country Italy’s government has to make a few changes to stay on the map. The poverty rate is actually lover than the U.S.’s poverty rate which is 15%. That is one of the few benefits over the U.S. I would have to say that Italy is developing.

  3. Government Italy has a very unique type of government. For example you are able to vote when you are 18 for the president but, you have to be 25 to vote for a senator of Italy. Also, they are a republic type government and have a civil law system. The constitution was passed on the 11th of December 1947, and became effective on the 1stJanuary 1948 and has been amended many times.

  4. Climate and Geography Italy’s geography is kind-of like ours! Their terrain is mostly rugged and mountainous; some plains, coastal lowland. It is cold in the winter and very hot in the summer in Italy. Also, Italy has a coastline of about 7,600 km. Only 30% of their land is farmable and the other 70% are hills and mountains Since there is a lot of ocean near Italy there are a lot of fishermen their.

  5. Culture Most of their population is Italian but there are small groups of Germans Slovakians and French. Most of there population is Christian but some of them are Muslims and Hindus. They mostly eat pizza, spaghetti, lasagna, and fish. They are unique because they have a lot of food that was original in Italy like most of the foods they eat.

  6. Current events There are a few current events going on in Italy Italy and Libya are fighting and oil has stopped being exported from Libya. They are also fighting along the border of Libya. The U.S. is on Italy's side so we might come and help.
