  8. Use your notes “COMPARE FRACTIONS” to determine the correct symbol (≤, ≥, >, <, =) to compare the two fractions you were given. For this activity I do not want you to use cross multiplication. Be prepared to discuss which strategy worked best (same numerator, same denominator, using ½ as a benchmark, use 1 whole as a benchmark, equivalent fractions).

  9. On the left side of journal, across from last night’s notes for converting fractions to decimals, discuss a method you have previously used to convert fractions to decimals. Include an example, a model of the fraction, and a written explanation of the method.
