  1. Broadcast Media Mrs. Katie Rolf Hello and welcome to Broadcast Media! This class will enable students to product student news products for the PJHS student body. I am eager to help make this your best school year ever! During Broadcast, students will be researching, scripting, filming, editing, and conducting interviews to produce a daily student newscast. The news About Broadcast: You will need: mandates cooperative work, independent assignments., and an adherence to our Student Code of Conduct. innovation will be an exciting and important part of this course, so participation will be very important. There will be little homework for this course. Class Expectations: Students will show respect to others, take care of school and personal property, and take care of the computer and media equipment. They will be responsible for turning assignments in on time and taking care to log out of their computer programs prior to leaving. Students are required to follow the rules and guidelines set forth in the student handbook and acceptable use policy. • Agenda and Pencil • Willingness to try new things! Standards:

Broadcast’s Goal: Students will: -be empowered learners by taking an active role in their learning. -demonstrate digital citizenship, acting in a safe and ethical manner. -become knowledge constructors through the use of digital tools to manufacture meaningful learning experiences for themselves and others. -be creative communicators, using a variety of tools, styles, and digital media, to express their message. -be global collaborators, using digital tools to broaden and enrich learning through collaboration locally and globally. -Be PJHS Leaders Evaluation: I will enter grades on Skyward approximately bi-weekly. Students will be evaluated over daily learning objectives, creative projects, and through quizzes and tests to assess mastery of technology knowledge and skills. Please pay most attention to ZEROS and the grade trends. Grades will fluctuate - almost everything can be improved on with extra effort.Project Rubrics are used and given at the start of each project.   3. Technology and Plagiarism Policies Students will use technology on a daily basis and are expected to abide by this technology use policy. DEVICES Students will have an assigned classroom computers. Their Chromebooks will generally not be needed. Personal devices must remain in lockers per the PJHS policy. Students are expected to follow this PJHS Code of Conduct.as well as the PJHS Student Handbook. Parents, please read/review these policies with your child.. Feel free to email any clarifying questions! Be A Leader Broadcast students will be highly visible to our student body. They are expected to uphold the Student Code of Conduct. If their behavior results in a detention or more severe punishment, they can no longer participate in this role. Students will be asked to choose a different class and will be removed from Broadcast.
