  2. Appearance of the Red Panda • The Red Panda is the size of a house cat • The Panda has long , soft, red brown fur with distinctive black and white markings on its face and a ringed tail • The Panda has long white whiskers • It also gets as long as 79-120cm long including the 30-60cm long tail

  3. Diet of the Red Panda • The Red Panda eats bamboo, fruit, grasses, acorns, roots, eggs, berries, blossoms, varies plants, small leaves, and small animals such as insects, small rodents, and young birds

  4. Locomotion of the Red Panda • The Red Panda moves slowly on ground, but in trees they are very agile

  5. Habitat and range of the Red Panda • The Red Panda lives in mountains and forests in Nepal, Burma, Central China, Southern Asia, other parts of China, and in the Himalayas

  6. Adaptations of the Red Panda • They use their bushy tails to wraparound them in the chilly mountain heights.

  7. Life Cycle/ reproduction • Cubs are born in the summer. About 130 days after mating with a Male . A Female gives birth between 1-4 young ones. Before she gives birth she makes a nest under a hollow tree or rockand lines it up with some plants. They stay in the nest for 90 days. Then they leave when the next cubs are born and they are fully grown at 12 months .

  8. Behavior of the Red Panda • They live on their own, except for the Females with young. They move slowly on ground, but in trees they are very agile. They’re active at dusk and dawn. They are fairly silent animals.

  9. Defense/offence • The Red Panda scampers up trees so the enemies wont get it • It uses its sharp claws also to defend themselves.

  10. Enemies of the Red Panda • The Red Pandas enemies are the Snow Leopards, Martens, Humans, Bears, and Mountain Lions.

  11. Species survival status • The Red Pandas are endangered because of the loss of habitat

  12. Something special • The Red Panda is a mix of a Raccoon and a Panda. • They also have an extra thumb

  13. Classification • Endangered!!!! • But are perfected in Nepal and china. • The main reason loss of them is they’re habitat.
