UPPCS O?cially released the notification in the last 2022. The last date to apply for the PCS J exam is 10 January 2023. UPPCS J 2023 Exam Pattern UPPCS Judicial Exam comprises three stages Preliminary Exam Main Exam Viva-Voce Preliminary Exam (Objective and Multiple Choice Type) Prelims is a screening test to shortlist candidates for the main exam. This exam is a multiple-choice objective-type exam consisting of two papers: General Knowledge and Law. This exam is held annually in the month of February/March. Paper Subject Marks Duration Paper I General Knowledge 150 2 Hours Paper II Law 300 2 Hours Total 450 Note: There is a negative marking of 0.33 mark in the prelims exam. Main Exam (Written Conventional Type) The exam is conducted in o?ine mode (pen and paper). The interview round consists of 100 marks & held annually in the month of December/January. UP Judiciary Exam Eligibility Criteria 2023 Educational Qualification To be eligible to appear for the UP Judicial Services Exam (also known as the UPPCS J Exam), candidates must possess a degree in Law from a recognized university. The degree must be obtained on or before the last date of submission of the application form for the exam. Candidates must be enrolled as an Advocate under the Advocate Act 1961. They must also be fluent in English Language and Devnagri Candidates who are awaiting the results of their final year Law examination are also eligible to apply, provided they are able to produce proof of having passed the examination at the time of the interview. Age Limit The age limit for the UP PCS J Exam is between 22 and 35 years as on the first day of January of the year in which the examination is held. This means that candidates must have been born between the first day of January in the year that they are applying and the first day of January in the year that they reach the age of 35. There is age relaxation for certain categories of candidates as per the rules of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). The age relaxation for di?erent categories is as per below rules: SC/ST candidates: 5 years OBC candidates: 3 years Ex-servicemen: 3 years Widow/Divorced Women: 5 years Government servants: 5 years UPPCS J Salary 2023 The salary of a UP PCS Judicial o?cer is based on the pay scale of the Uttar Pradesh Judicial Service. As per the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, the basic pay scale for the UP Judiciary Service is: 9000-14550 (Revised Pay Scale Rs. 27700-770-35090-920-40450-1080-44770) In addition to the basic pay, UP PCS J o?cers are also entitled to various allowances and perks, such as House Rent Allowance Travel Allowance Electricity Bill Phone Bill Water Bill Car Facility Vehicle Maintenance Pension after Retirement The total salary package of a UP PCS J o?cer, including all allowances, is approximately Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 90,000 per month.
