Costs Please note that the out of area costs are in addition to the base cost of £33. The £33 is still paid for by the school.

In brief • Students will need to: • Learn about different jobs and careers • Find their own placements in an area that interests them • Apply • Return all documentation by the deadline • It is strongly recommended that your child has an agreed work placement organised by Christmas. • Suggest they start NOW
In brief • Parents can: • Discuss different careers and placements with your child • Encourage them to just ask! • Help them with the words that they can use • Remind them of the deadlines and the need to complete and return documentation to the school
In brief • The school will • Provide information advice and guidance to all students • Support individual students with ideas and advice • Make a database of potential placements available to students • Provide initial training in the use of the website • Cover the initial costs of WEX (£33 per student)
Safety and Security of Students • Each placement is checked by Education Business Partnership South West: • Employers’ Liability Insurance • Public Liability • Safe Working Practices • Note: If a placement fails the Health and Safety checks, we cannot process that placement
Before and After • Students will be: • Briefed about expectations • Provided with a logbook • After the placement, students will • Be debriefed about their experiences • Self assess their skills related to critical skills in their logbook • Use the log books as a resource to help write their CV in Year 11
