    6. Planning-Phase II Building Projects Boultinghouse Simpson Architects is working on the Design Development Phase of the Institutional Support Services Building Project. The Architect’s consultants are reviewing the schematic design and are working on their initial design of the structural, mechanical and electrical systems. A cost estimate is also in progress. A meeting was held with STC Staff to review the revised Schematic Design plans for the Information Technology Building on June 22nd. The plans are being revised per this meeting and will be re-visited during a follow-up meeting scheduled for July 1, 2004. Schematic design approval will be requested by the Board of Trustees at the July 15, 2004 Board meeting.

    7. Planning-Phase II Building Projects The Communication Arts Building is tracking behind the Institutional Support Services and the Information Technology Buildings. A trip to visit facilities in Dallas similar to the one required by STC, was successful in providing the Architect with a glimpse of what STC’s expectations are for this building. A conceptual plan (diagram) of the proposed building is being developed to help describe the relationship of the targeted funding sources to the different functional areas of the building in order to assist in refining the scope of the final program. ERO International architects continue to work on the Design Development Phase of the Remodeling of Building “C” on the Pecan Campus Renovation Projects. Based on a directive from the Facilities Committee, the Architects MEP consultants have developed a narrative scope of the work required to locate HVAC units inside the existing buildings. The Construction Manager at Risk, BFW, analyzed the cost impact of moving the A/C units from the roof into the existing buildings A & F. The information was inconclusive and required additional review by the project team. A more detailed breakdown, documented in a table format will be developed and presented at the next Facilities Committee meeting.
